Fun in the Sun

Exploring Powell

Whew! We tried to get alot of our playing in before the summer work rush hit and I think we succeded. We have been to Lake Powell, the Dunes (a few times), Jordenelle Resevoir, and of course the kids playground, Lagoon. We have had a blast! A little burnt crisp, but we are all enjoying the sunshine (now that it has decided to stick around a bit). We are not done for the Summer but we have had a great start. Life is good. I think our next adventure is Starvation Lake. Maybe we will see you there?

The Beatles

For some reason the family is stuck on this Beatles kick. We bought the new Across the Universe CD and DVD, Jimmy has bought just about every album they did, even Wyatt has been singing Beatles songs everywhere he goes. It is strange to me that they like the oldies more than any new music that has come out...not that I don't enjoy it myself. I guess good music is just that. We decided to head up to the Egyptian theatre for a Beatles tribute concert. We took Andy's mom Cindy, Aunt Susan and Cousin Sully. It was pretty fun. The band dressed in their Beatles get up with their suits, boots, and wigs. They sounded just like them too. The boys really enjoyed it. We even got Jimmy on his feet, dancing a few songs. Wyatt did the robot... We cant figure him out either. I guess now
we can say we went to a Bealtes concert...in a way.

Winter Recovery

Latley mother nature cant decide if it is winter or spring. We will have snow and wind one day, and then a beautiful, unusually warm day the next. We are excited for some steady warm weather to come our way so we can start off our "camp out season". Our summer is already looking pretty full. All of my weekends are accounted for from June through August with scheduled gigs or vacations. I am a little unsure of how the summer will go with the boys not being in school. I have found that as the kids get older they get much harder to please and entertain. The zoo and a trip to the park are no longer an option. They want to be with friends and they only want me to be their taxi to and from activities any more. :-( I think the hardest part is that Jimmy no longer plays in the back yard. His playground is much bigger, and I am constantly trying to find out where he is and what he is up too. Wyatt is more of a homebody- which I am grateful for but I am sure that will change too. I have about one more month to soak up any free time until the boys are back under my wing for their daily routines. I better make it good...
